What is it all about?
The biggest challenge faced by any organisation like ours is transport and we are no different. We constantly struggle to arrange transport and the costs involved are often very large.
We have decided as a Company to raise money to purchase our own Minibus and our newly formed Parents and Friends Committee have named the appeal the Build a Bus appeal.
How can you get Involved?
Fundraising Quiz - Each member has been given 5 quiz sheets and we are asking that each member sells them to family members or friends for £1 per sheet, The quiz is based on street names in Scarborough and the quiz winner can win £10. If you feel you could sell quiz sheets through a workplace or other method, please let us know and we can provide you with a supply.
Easy Search and Easy Fundraising - When searching the internet, if you use our very own search page through Easy Search we receive a donation for every sponsored link which you click on. In addition, when shopping on the internet, if you access the relevant site such as amazon.co.uk through our Easy Fundraising site we will receive a donation. To date we have raised just under £100 for the appeal with a very small number of people using the site!!!
Webb Ivory - Over the coming weeks we will be giving you the opportunity to take home a Webb Ivory catalogue and take orders for Christmas Products.
The appeal will make a profit from all orders placed and therefore, please take a catalogue and show it to your friends and family taking orders on our behalf.
Smarties Tubes - We are also going to be sending the lads home with a tube of Smarties next week. We are asking that they eat the Smarties and the fill the tube back up with change. Asking friends and family for donations of change towards the appeal.
Bag2School - Church Member Joy Calder is organising a Bag2School collection in November to raise funds for the appeal. Please would you start looking out those clothes that you have finished with - adults, children's - shoes, bags, curtains.
Ready Steady Cook - 14th October 2008 - We have a very interesting event coming up at which our Company Captain, Mike Colbeck will be taking on our Chaplain Rev. Geoff Bowell at Ready Steady Cook. This is a joint fundraising event with the Church and we will provide more details nearer the time.
Family Quiz Night - Saturday 29th November - We are also running a quiz night and pie and pea supper on 29th November to raise funds towards the appeal. The event is taking shape quickly and again more details will follow nearer the time.
