And now the end is near.....

Hey everybody! Kirsty here. Was meant to be some of the lads writing this report this week, but they've had so much fun and been so busy that it's been left to me and Cobs!!! Well, it's now Friday evening and the end of the holiday is nearly here! It's been an interesting couple of days....

Thursday morning was an early start (well up at 8.30!), as we had a day planned at Beamish. We were all nervous as Tom C (now known as Garmin for his lack of navigational skills) was driving today, however we arrived with no problems at all! "Apparently" it is cos I went to sleep, so wasn't interfering with his driving, but I think he was up all night studying the map!!!!! We had a great day down the mine, in the school house and down in the town!! Poor Tom C got shouted at by one of the men who worked in the church, for playing star wars on the organ which he wasn't allowed to!!!! We watched sweets be made, and travelled around on the trams. We even managed to get Cobs to visit the dentist (the 1st time for bout 10 years!!!!) The weather was once again fantastic, which allowed us all to enjoy the fantastic museum!

Thursday night was spent relaxing around the centre and laughing at all the photos and videos from the week!

So to Friday, another quite early start, but all up and excited for a trip to Metro Centre!!! We spent the morning at the cinema, watching either Harry Potter or Transformers 2. Then after lunch an afternoon of shopping, coffee drinking and ipod buying (Well Cobs and Steve buying ipod!)

The highlight of the evening was Jake finally learning to walk!! The lads have worked so hard all week teaching him this great skill and on the last day of our great week away, he finally took the steps!!

Well thats about it for the week! Will write a reflection blog in the next couple of days!!!

Night all!!!!!!

5th Scarborough Gets Cultured!!!!!

Hi there its Cobs again with a quick report about yesterday. We enjoyed an excellent tour around St James' Park - the home of Newcaste United with a fantastic tour guide. The lads learned all about the magpies with many stories about the players and managers of the past and present.

Following this we went for a walk over the Millennium Footbridge on the quayside and then to the very cultured, contemporary art gallery - The Baltic. Whilst we didn't really understand the art we did enjoy it very much.

We are going to Beamish today so watch out for another installment, hopefully tonight!!

Day 4 - Relaxing day!!!!

Morning everybody. Kirsty here again writing yesterday's report!

After a crazy day swimming on Monday, we decided to have lie in and a more relaxed day on Tuesday. But by 10.00 we still had not heard a noise from any of them, everybody was shattered. I only wish that a certain 1 year old could also understand the word lie in and then I too would have been able to catch up on sleep!!!

When they finally surfaced, we spent the morning on camp competitions and chilling out using Xbox and Wii! Michael Jackson's songs seem to be the songs of the week on guitar hero (starting to wind Cobs up slightly!)

After lunch although it was raining we went for a little walk and found a park! So this kept them all happy for about an hour. As you can see from the photos, they had a crazy time and there will be some videos to upload when we get back of the crazy part of the park we found! Make sure you keep watching next week!!

When the rain began to pour, we returned to the bus with the aim of getting back to the centre, which should have been a 5 minute trip ! 30 minutes later and Tom's expert navigational skills (NOT) finally got us back to the centre.

NOTE TO EVERYBODY - Tom does not know the difference between left and right, even when you are shouting at him that he needs to right!!! Never ask him for directions!

Bowling was the activity for the evening! We had a ball (excuse the pun!!) at the bowling alley with some bowling well and others not so well with the star of the evening being Mark who scored very well with 111. Tom was the star of the staff with 134, shame he can't navigate the bus as well as the bowling balls down the alley!!!!

Day 3 - A very wet & wild day!!!

Hi there, a very tired Cobs here, after 6 hours of swimming at Wet & Wild the UK's largest water park. With many slides & pools to keep us busy, we have had very busy day.

Wet & Wild was fantastic and everyone had a brilliant day. Unfortunately it is difficult to take pictures at a water park due to child protection, however we did manage to get permission to take a few and these can be found in the gallery on the main site.

A more relaxed day ahead tomorrow and Ryan will definately be doing the report for tomorrow.

Thanks for reading.

Sunday - 2nd day!

Hi everybody! Kirsty again, as everybody else is too tired to write!

Had a great 2nd day! After breakfast we set off for a day in "North Shields", only for us to arrive there and to realise that it wasn't where we planned to be and needed to be on the other side of the River in South Shields! I take the blame!!!! So anyway we finally arrived in South Shields, where we spent the day playing cricket and playing in the park! Some of them also went on the boating lake, whilst others went for a trip on the miniature railway (Guess which train geek went on the train??!). We then went to the fairground, and whilst some of us more exciting people went on the rides, the grandad's of the Company (erm... Cobs, Tom Clayton and Stephen) went for a sit down and a little rest!!

Back to the centre for games before an evening at the Speedway! We went to see the local derby of Newcastle Diamonds vs Redcar Bears! We got a special tour and explanation about how the bike's work, before watching 15 heats of racing! After several accidents and nail biting races, Newcastle Diamonds were successful, winning 61-29! After the race, several of the racers were kind enough to sign autographs and talk to the lads.

So that was the 2nd day! We've been very fortunate to have a brilliant day's weather, with bright sunshine all day! But all this nice weather and fresh air has made me shattered, so off to bed now! Ryan's gonna chat to you all tomorrow and fill you in on all of the day's actions!

See you all later!

1st day at camp!!

Hi everyone! Kirsty here reporting on 1st day at camp!

After leaving the pouring rain of Scarborough, we arrived to the bright sunshine of Whitley Bay!!

Once we'd unpacked all of the stuff and explored the centre, we all went for an visit of the local sea front! Rain cut short our little trip. Maybe should this will teach them all to take a jacket with them wherever we go, so they don't have to moan about getting wet! (That does include me and also Jake's rain cover!!!)

After we'd had our tea, we went ice skating! Poor Oliver fell over about 25 times during the time! And the classic moment of Cobs falling over getting onto the ice! But we left with no broken bones after a brilliant evening and 1st day at camp!

Well its goodnight from me, its time for bed, before another action planned day tomorrow. Hope the weather stays fine.

Bye for now

Kirsty x
